Dr. Uma Ram

Dr. Uma Ram is a senior obstetrician and gynaecologist in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with over 32 years of clinical experience. She is among the city's most established specialists in high-risk pregnancy, and has built a reputation in the management of gestational diabetes and complex twin pregnancies.

Her clinical focus areas include high-risk pregnancy, gestational diabetes, twin and multiple pregnancy, intrauterine growth restriction, PCOS, and benign gynaecology. Alongside clinical practice she has contributed 15 peer-reviewed publications and seven book chapters on obstetric topics including twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, fetal intervention and prenatal care.

Dr. Ram holds MBBS, DGO, DNB and FRCOG. She coordinated the Chennai Part 2 MRCOG examination courses from 2004 to 2015 and teaches on the faculty at Voluntary Health Services, Adyar and on the Fetal Medicine Fellowship programme at Mediscan Systems. Her awards include the Shan S. Ratnam Young Gynaecologist Award, the International Diabetic Federation Blue Ring Award and the Rotary International Woman Achiever Award.

She consults patients in English, Tamil and Hindi at Seethapathy Pluro Fertility and IVF, Chennai - caring for women across the city and Tamil Nadu through high-risk pregnancy, gestational diabetes management, twin pregnancy care and gynaecological treatment.
