Surrogacy

Surrogacy

Surrogacy involves another woman (the surrogate) carrying a pregnancy for the intended parents. In India, surrogacy is strictly regulated: only altruistic (non-commercial) surrogacy is permitted for married couples, and there are legal requirements regarding eligibility, medical screening, and documentation. Surrogacy can be an option when a woman cannot carry a pregnancy due to medical reasons, providing a path to parenthood.

For whom?

Surrogacy is recommended for couples where the woman is unable to carry a pregnancy safely due to medical or anatomical reasons.
It’s especially relevant if:

  • You have a medical condition (such as absence or malformation of the uterus) that prevents pregnancy.
  • You have experienced repeated IVF failures or recurrent pregnancy loss despite healthy embryos.
  • You have a health condition (such as severe heart disease or renal issues) where pregnancy poses a serious risk.
  • You have undergone a hysterectomy or other surgery that has removed or damaged the uterus.
  • You wish to build a family through legally regulated altruistic surrogacy under Indian law.
