Tubal Testing
Tubal testing evaluates whether the fallopian tubes are open, which is essential for spontaneous conception. The tubes can be tested by hysterosalpingogram (HSG) or sonosalpingography (SSG). A dye or saline is introduced into the uterus and imaging is done. The test is usually brief, with minor cramping possible for a few hours afterward. Most women can resume normal activities the same day.

For whom?
Tubal testing is recommended for women who are trying to conceive and need to confirm that their fallopian tubes are open and functioning normally.
 It’s especially relevant if:
- You have been trying to conceive for six months to a year without success.
 - You have a history of pelvic infection, endometriosis, or pelvic surgery, which may cause tubal blockage or scarring.
 - You have experienced a previous ectopic pregnancy.
 - You are undergoing a fertility evaluation before starting treatments like IUI or IVF.
 - Your doctor wants to assess tubal health as part of a complete fertility work-up.
